1. Status of 2026 External Review Applications

• Capacity Reached: Our review quota for external applications in 2026 has been fully filled. We are currently unable to accept new requests. Applicants requiring IRB review are kindly requested to refer their protocols to other recognized review bodies.
• Existing Approved Requests: For protocols that have already received official written consent for review, please ensure all submission materials are finalized by December 31, 2026.

2. Updated Policies for External Reviews (Effective 2027)

• Geographic Scope: Applications will only be accepted if both the host institution and the research site(s) are located within Taipei City, New Taipei City, Keelung City, Taoyuan City, or Yilan County.
• Monthly Cap: A monthly cap of 2 external applications will be implemented. Submissions will be paused once the cap is reached.

3. Collaborative Protocols & Application Guidelines

• System Collaborations: Research protocols conducted in collaboration with Taipei Medical University or its healthcare system entities are exempt from the aforementioned geographic and monthly limits.
